Imagem Music is pleased to announce the recent signing of singer/songwriter Hesta Prynn (aka Julie Potash) to a worldwide, multi-year co-publishing agreement.

The former MC from indie hip-hop favorites Northern State, Hesta Prynn has since released an EP and two 7"s, including a cover of "Pepper" (Butthole Surfers),  featuring Clown from Slipknot. Earlier this year, Too Pure/Beggars Banquet released "Turn It Gold" on limited edition 7", selling out in the pre-sale.

As a performer, Hesta Prynn's sound has already extended far beyond those well-trodden NYC streets at shows internationally with everyone from Jay-Z and 30 Seconds to Mars, to Tegan and Sara and Kelis. Her stop-motion video for "Can We Go Wrong" is everywhere from MTV's "The Seven", to tech-art blog Boing Boing to Teen Vogue, and her envelope-pushing video for "Turn It Gold" is causing a stir across Europe.  The list of DJ's and musicians who've remixed her music is lengthy and awesome (RAC, DJA/Mad Decent and Adrock) while Hesta has built her own impressive DJ and remix track record, performing at Bonnaroo and remixing and covering artists stretching from Josh Ritter to Neon Indian and Les Savy Fav.

"I couldn't be more excited about signing with the great group of creative and passionate music people at Imagem and am thrilled to continue to write for my next record as well as work with other artists," said Prynn.

"Hesta embodies what it means to be a progressive artist.  She continually pushes creative boundaries and, to me, that's the essence of exciting art," commented Richard Stumpf, President of Imagem Music USA. "It is a pleasure to welcome her to the Imagem family."
